We have four kids, and with four kids come four different sets of athletic gear, bike equipment, and all of the random things we seem to buy them that they get bored with in two days. I wouldn’t call myself a gear head, but I know my way around an engine and often tackle simple engine problems myself. It’s a challenge to me, and to this day I haven’t met an honest mechanic so whatever I can do myself I’ll at least give a shot. The only problem is my garage is like a disaster zone; a basketball here, a kite with its cord tangled around the lawn mower over there, and a pile of my daughter’s toys right on top of my heavy duty tool box. I have tossed around the idea of building a shelving system, but every blueprint I jotted down didn’t seem to fit. Just last week I was changing my oil, and as I walked around my car to get the funnel for the new oil I stepped on a baseball and fell backwards. I stumbled into the table we have in there and slammed my lower back into the edge. After all the commotion and a few choice words my wife came running out and I told her that enough is enough. After dinner we sat down and went over our options, and then she said she remembered a girlfriend of hers had a company come over and do their laundry room, so she gave her a call. My wife’s friend gave her a website about closet organizers, so we checked it out. The home page was helpful, and I was shocked at the amount of information the directory had. I always thought they just set up shelves and hanging rods, but it seems like an actual science and these people know what they’re talking about. After submitting our info we were contacted by a local specialist and they’re coming out this weekend to assess our garage. I still think I could build the system myself, but then again I also thought I could fix the weed-wacker that’s been dead for a year now.

I just moved to Indianapolis after landing a job, and I couldn’t be more excited! My girlfriends and I all graduated from college last May, and even though I was the last one to get a job, I am so looking forward to having my own place, a new life, and of course MONEY! I looked around for places in the paper, and found a few that were almost too good to be true. I went to see them and they were all really nice inside, and the neighborhoods were a little sketchy but nothing too bad. I told all my girlfriends where I found some places, and they all freaked out and told me to never go back there and find something closer to them. I guess there were some recent break-ins around my possible apartments, and since I’m a petite girl they think I’m an easy target. I saw a lot of people in their twenties like me, and there were nice cars in the parking lot, so I felt comfortable. I didn’t want to pass this up because my girlfriends were too afraid to come over, so I looked at this one single apartment one more time. I loved it again, and asked the guy about the area. He said there was some recent activity, but they seemed like isolated incidents. He then wrote down a website on the back of his card, and said, “If you’re really that concerned, check this out.” So I went home and looked up this site, and it was a website on alarm systems. I had never lived anywhere with one, but it seemed like a good idea. I read more about my options in the home security sitemap, and it seemed like the logical thing to do. I called up my agent and told him I scheduled an appointment with a guy for an alarm system, and he said he’d meet us out there. I guess a few people in the building have one, so they gave me a deal and I was ecstatic! Not only do I have my first new place, I can rest easy knowing me and my stuff is safe at all times!
